The Fall of an Icon
Once again we are witnessing the downfall of an african american icon Bill Cosby. Like Michael Jackson before him all those that capitalized from his image, money, and generosity now turn their backs. Pulled endorsements, recalls on honoary degrees, and the tagging rapist on his star on the hollywood walk of fame prompted me to write a thank you note to Mr. Cosby....
Dear Mr Cosby..I am not hear to judge or persecute you..On judgment day you have to stand before someone greater than I. I am writing you to say Thank you. Thank you for childhood memories of the Cosby kids Fat Albert and Jello pudding. thank you for a Different World and for exposing me to HBCU's because of Whitley Dewayne and the gang I attended a HBCU with purpose and pride. thank you for Clare and Heathcliff Huxtable who showed me we could be anything we wanted to be and black love is real and there are black families not just single families struggling to make it in the world. Thank you for all the youth you put through school the HBCU you saved with your generosity. Your legacy is much bigger than what we see of you now and I endeavor to remind all let he who is without sin cast the first stone. I will continue to thank you for all the good work you have done!
